As President of LEVESQUE Strategy and Public Affairs, Christian Levesque brings with him his 7 years of experience in active politics and almost 20 years in the business world to the firm. He is an Elite Program “businessman-athlete” graduate from the Beauce Entrepreneurship School.
Christian began his career as an entrepreneur in the textile industry, working in Quebec City, Paris and Tunis. He took care of the design, confection and distribution of clothing for international customers. In 2002, he joined the family business, Vitrerie Lévis, and served as president of the Lévis Chamber of Commerce in 2006-2007.
Christian became a Member of Quebec’s National Assembly (MNA) for the riding of Lévis in 2007. He was named Official Opposition Critic for the Treasury Board, Official Opposition Critic for Economic Development, vice-chair of the Committee on Institutions and vice-chair of the Committee on Public Finance. He also served as vice-chair of the National Assembly’s Delegation on Relations with the United States.
In 2009, Christian was one of three candidates to run for the leadership of the Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ), eventually serving as the party’s president and executive director from 2010 to 2012. He played a key role in the merger between the ADQ and the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ).
Christian has served on a number of boards and has been involved in several organizations. He was chairman of the Canadian committee working on the development of ISO’s Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ISO 37001 / PC 278) for the Standards Council of Canada and headed the delegation conducting the international negotiations. He is now vice president of the Transportation Evolution Institute and a co-founder of the Association of Quebec Publicly-Traded Companies. He is frequently asked to comment news in different media, for example on Radio-Canada’s French language show “Club des ex”.
