Luc Ferland holds 35 years of experience in northern development of economic, social and cultural areas. He was Ungava’s deputy from 2007 to 2014 were he served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources (Nordic business component), chairman of the Committee on Institutions and vice president of the Political Committee APF (Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie), which includes 74 French-speaking countries.
He previously served as political adviser for Ungava’s deputy, director general of the Regional Development Council of James Bay, commissioner of the Provisional Council of the School Board of James Bay, CEO of Joutel (municipality of James Bay ) and Commission President leisure, culture and tourism in the James Bay region.
He was one of the founding members of the FTQ investment fund for the North of Quebec and member of the Committee on maximizing Hydro-Québec’s economic benefits for this same region.
He was also chairman of Les jeux du Québec - Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec and Director of Recreation for the City of Chapais.
