With a 46-year career in journalism, Simon Durivage has mastered all aspects of the vocation, from television to radio. Among many postings, he has held the positions of reporter, news anchor and bureau chief, for the public and private networks. Included in his career are high profile shows such as Consommateurs avertis, Le point, TVA 22h and Le Club des ex.
Simon Durivage has covered some of the biggest news stories in Québec and Canada over the past few decades. He has served as commentator and analyst for major events, such as the signature of the Meech Lake Accord and the failure of the Charlottetown Accord. He has interviewed Pierre-Elliot Trudeau and René Lévesque, among many other key political figures.
Well respected by his peers and by the public, notably for his engaging style of commentary, Simon Durivage is an icon of Québec journalism. He is famous for his persistent digging for truth and clarity of information. Over the course of his brilliant career, he has won no less than six Gémeaux awards (Québec television awards), three MetroStar trophies, including personality of the year for 2001, as well as the René-Lévesque Prize. He was named to the Order of Canada in 2014.
