Simon Pierre H. Djob Sotong

Expert, ISO 37001 Standard


Certified by PECB as Lead Implementer, Simon Pierre specializes in the establishment of ISO 37001 : 2016 – Anti-bribery management systems. He investigates, identifies and contains the risks and practice of bribery by designing and applying policies for leadership teams in organizations, to meet the ISO 37001 standard.

At the same time, he is completing a PhD in business criminal law at l’Université Laval. His thesis includes an analysis of the adoption of mechanisms for prevention and elimination of corruution in industrialized societies, as well as developing countries, as exhibited in the conventions of the United Nations, the OECD, and the African Union. He also holds a master's degree in human rights and humanitarian activities, as well as a diploma in criminal law and criminology.

The originality and quality of his work have earned him two merit bursaries, one awarded by the law faculty of l’Université Laval in 2011, and the second by the Centre d’études en droit économique and the ministry of finance of Québec in 2012. He is the author of several publications, with a strong focus on the struggle against corruption, international business law, and human rights. He has also appeared at conferences, presenting on these same subjects.

Previously, Simon Pierre was a police inspector serving the General Delegation for national security in Cameroun, from 2002 to 2011. This gave him a wide experience with police investigation techniques and in document research.

Involved in his adopted community, Simon Pierre works as a volunteer at the student life office at l’Université Laval, where he facilitates the integration of international students to Québec society.
